# ORCHID > Open Repository for CALPHAD Hypotheses, Intelligence, and Discovery (Texas A&M University). Openly licensed CALPHAD > thermodynamic databases (TDB), binary convex hulls (DFT and CALPHAD), calculated binary phase diagrams and > phase-equilibrium and thermochemical values read from published papers. Every value carries its source, licence and > evidence class. Status of the data release v2026.10: Version 1, machine-extracted: values were read by language-model readers constrained to quote their source and checked automatically, and the release was then audited on the printed pages by adversarial audits, an independent second review of fit-facing records and a preliminary human review of a frozen sample. Flags such as accepted and ESPEI-ready record screening results, not certification; known issues are listed in the release notes (https://orchid-project.org/#releases). Evidence classes are never mixed: experimental | model (linked to the exact TDB file by SHA-256) | dft | assessed_phase_diagram. ## Data - [Catalog (JSON)](https://orchid-project.org/data/catalog.json): one record per database: name, elements, phases, tier, licence, source URL. - [Catalog (CSV)](https://orchid-project.org/data/catalog.csv) - [Bundled TDB files](https://github.com/orchid-calphad/orchid-project.org/tree/main/data/databases): redistributable databases; licences in data/NOTICE.md. - [DFT hulls, Materials Project v2026.04.13](https://github.com/orchid-calphad/orchid-project.org/tree/main/data/hulls/dft-mp): one JSON per binary system, interval schema. - [DFT hulls, OQMD v1.8](https://github.com/orchid-calphad/orchid-project.org/tree/main/data/hulls/dft-oqmd): same schema; fitted elemental references (not comparable in energy to MP). - [CALPHAD hulls, SGTE](https://github.com/orchid-calphad/orchid-project.org/tree/main/data/hulls/calphad-sgte) - [Literature data, all records (CSV.gz)](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/orchid-literature.csv.gz): invariant reactions, transitions, phase compositions, thermochemical and structural values from published papers; evidence class, units, T (K) and pressure, phases and compositions (mole fraction), method, conditions, citation + DOI, verbatim quote + page, flags. Nested fields are JSON strings. - [Literature data (JSONL.gz)](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/orchid-literature.jsonl.gz): same records, one JSON object per line. - [Literature data per system](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/index.json): index of data/literature/systems/.json (SYS = sorted uppercase elements joined by '-', e.g. AL-NI). - [Literature papers](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/papers.json) and [experimental contexts](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/contexts.json); field reference: [SCHEMA.md](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/SCHEMA.md); about: https://orchid-project.org/dataset/ - [DFT vs experiment, formation enthalpies (JSON)](https://orchid-project.org/data/literature/dft_parity.json): literature HM_FORM values (kJ/mol-atom) paired with the lowest-energy Materials Project and OQMD entry at the same binary composition (separate sources, never averaged); matching rules, exclusions, per-source MAE/RMSE/r. Viewer: https://orchid-project.org/dft-parity/ - [Phase registry (JSON)](https://data.orchid-project.org/phases/registry.json): compact index, one row per (binary system, phase) (id, names, structure tier and prototype, counts); full records (models with tdb_definition, stability, references) in https://data.orchid-project.org/phases/systems/.json, id phase::; every name (tdb::, paper::
